I have been on Compass Cruises outer reef tour three times and it’s always great! I know their not running right now due to Covid but we were just discussing the awesome time we had! This is absolutely the best value reef trip out of Cairns, and the staff are so kind and very helpful, even when one of my friends was crazy sea sick! The lunch was really enjoyable and the wine with cheese and crackers was a nice touch! We loved drinking all the coffee too! The locations they take you to snorkel are really pretty, maybe not the best spots on the reef as they are higher trafficked tour areas, but we saw tons of fish, turtles, octopus and a few small sharks. Really outstanding experience. When we have friends come to visit after Covid we plan to take another trip with Compass.

The crew on this trip were really wonderful. I enjoyed the reefs and i even dropped my goggles in the middle of the ocean and a staff member free dived down to the bottom of the reef to fetch it for me!!nnI don’t know what the food or wine was like as I was so sea sick the whole day. I never get sea sick on any boat. About two minutes after being on board we were sitting on the lower deck at a table and my partner wanted to move to the higher deck to get some air as he felt a bit sick. We felt better once we were outside then the vessel took off and the staff gave a safety briefing but rather than talk about the life jackets he skimmed over them and got straight into sea sickness I honestly felt like I was being told to feel sea sick and boom I did. As I started backing away from the chat wanting to vomit I noticed 3 other ladies doing the same thing looking very pale.nThe staff suggested I sit at the back of the boat so I did. A few staff members Kept my partner and I company, one in particular Carlos was able to provide me with moments of relief where I could chat to him without wanting to die from seas sickness.nnFinally we arrived at our First reef I waited for everyone to exit the boat so I could get changed without the fear of vomiting on everyone.nnIt was a good day but I will never forget feeling so sea sick I actually wanted to swim in croc infested waters back to carins city.

Value for money. Good moorings on The Great Barrier Reef.

The cruise to the Great Barrier Reef was truly amazing. There was ample time for snorkeling at 2 places. The crew were extremely helpful. My wife, who cannot swim, and many other like her, too enjoyed snorkeling with the help of crew members, who would make them hold on to a float and then take them into the sea and show the coral reefs and fish.nThe food on the ship was excellent.nThis cruise was true value for money and is highly recommended.

Fantastic day!!! I can’t recommend this boat & crew high enough. A massive thing for me (being a single dad) was they made my kids feel safe & at ease with everything. The staff were amazing. They made my kids first ever snorkelling experience on The Great Barrier Reef one they will never forget.nFANTASTIC day!!!
