The Big Marlin

Classic Aussie Road-side Big Thing, without any of the touristy nonsense. No interpretation plaque easily visible from the base.

It is a big statue of a Marlin. I've heard locals tell a story that it used to be part of the Big Marlin Mall, but when it was demolished and rebuilt as a Stockland Shopping Centre they decided to keep it. The more you know..

This is a landmark? It's a big statue of a fish, but not as big as all the other big things around the country. It does look like a fish though, so I guess that makes it ok if you're into that kind of thing.
