Great Adventures - Cairns, Great Barrier Reef & Green Island Cruises

What a wonderful day trip !!! The ferry was on time and plenty of extra activities were offered on the island. The crew was available to answer any of our question. Coffee and tea were provided for free on board. The boat is spacious.nSpend a full day on the island is worth. You can easily snorkel from the shore or book a tour (40min the water - 1km far from the shore).

It's a great place to relax and snorkel. As for snorkelling, if you know how to swim I would suggest you to hire only the fins, glasses and snorkelling tube. There are two great areas for snorkelling around the island. One is where the flags and the lifeguards are. The other one is near the jetty. The second one is truly awesome with beautiful corals and lots off fishes. I saw some clams down there. One dead clam there weighed like a basin. In case of the area with lifeguards lookout for turtles. I saw a really big one, bug only for 20 seconds. They generally come out at early morning. There plenty of showers in the island for you go get cleaned before getting changed. After that you can opt for a seafood based lunch at one of the island cafes followed by an afternoon stroll through the jungle and the beautiful white sandy beaches.

I booked a ticket to Green Island for my toddler and I, and on the day we were running late because I couldn't find the office. When I got there I was stressed about missing the boat and then realised I hadn't paid for my parking. Sarah at reception was beautiful - she offered to look after my toddler for me (who refused) so I ran all the way to my car and back and she was waiting to assist us to the boat and had colouring pack ready for my daughter. They also held the boat for us as were now officially late. The service on board too was really great. The gentleman took his time to explain everything to us and gave my daughter some free snacks. What could have been a terrible start was made great by the excellent customer service I received. Thank you so much!

This was a great day and great value for money going to both Green Island and the Reef in 1 day. Half a day is more than enough for Green Island. Out at the reef the scubadoo was really great and worth the money
