Katherine Star Cinema

Lovely owner. Great selection of films. A walk down memory lane - what going to the theatre was like as a kid. Yummy snack bar. A must of you are looking for something in the cool air con to do in Katherine.

My partner and I went yesterday to watch Tenet. ( Which is amazing btw) The guy at the ticket counter was very nice, really outgoing and helpful. We were the only ones there at that session so it felt like home, good screen quality and sound. Maybe the AC a bit high for us but I guess that is a standard thing in all the cinemas all over the world. First time I see a cinema that sells the posters of the movies, simply amazing , got 2 :) We will come back for sure.

The adults who were at the counter were friendly and their service were great. The popcorn was a bit too salty but overall, it was an enjoyable time :)

As a regular visitor to the NT this Cinema it was sad to see the closure as I have been there and Katherine people should be very pleased to see it open again under New Management. All the best to the new operators and hope you are successful in returning this Cinema back to its glory days providing entertainment to the region. I will pay a visit on my next return to the NT. Greeted by two gentlemen who were very nice and tickets were on special for school holidays, saw a movie with barely any people around, lovely and cool inside and snacks were yummy! Definitely improved and should be utilised more often by locals and visitors.
