Scuba IQ

I completed my PADI open water certification with Martin at Scuba IQ last week - this consisted of online theory, a pool day and two days out in the open water.nnAs someone who had no previous experience with diving but had always wanted to try it and was a little bit (or a lot!) nervous, I cannot recommend Martin enough. From the beginning, as I was organizing the training, Martin was a very clear, thorough and regular communicator which I appreciated. At that point I already knew I was going to be in good hands.nnThe actual instruction itself was fantastic - it was just Martin and me. Martin is a very talented instructor - friendly and encouraging, and very approachable when I felt unsure of something. I appreciated that he did not give false or misleading praise and was very clear on things that I needed to work on in a very constructive way. His feedback never felt intimidating, belittling or condescending. Hitting all of these notes in pedagogy is an art - he's the kind of instructor who truly makes you feel like no question is too dumb. By the end of the instruction, I was surprised by how calm and confident I felt under Martin's guidance and instruction.nnThere are so many other wonderful, small details about Scuba IQ I could rave about - this experience completely exceeded my expectations. Martin is incredibly generous with his time and I could tell he really went above and beyond. Thank you Martin for a fun, educational experience - I am excited to think about other people getting to learn diving through you and your team!

Our family of five had a great day on the reef with instructors Chad and Kyte on the reef. The most professional and fun dive instructors in Port Douglas. I can certainly recommend the Martin and his Scuba IQ team to anyone considering diving in Port Douglas. Thanks guys, it was a fantastic experience for our family!

I went diving for 2 full days with Martin while my dive buddy was completing his Open Water certification with Martin.nnI have dived in quite a few different places and I highly recommend Martin as the best instructor I have dived with. He was patient and very thorough. He presented information in a really engaging way. He is a very calm and kind person.nnIf you are new to diving or need a refresher, you should definitely learn with Martin.nnBrand new gear including wet suits and BCD's. We went out to the reef from Port Douglas yesterday for our very first scuba dive (introductory day trip) and Chad was our instructor. He was so professional, patient and calm and helpful. I was quite anxious to begin with, and he took it in his stride. It was an incredible day and we saw so much! We were so glad we went with Scuba IQ as we had Chad all to ourselves (1 instructor for 2 of us) and didn't feel rushed at any stage. Highly recommend Scuba IQ for anyone wanting to dive from Port Douglas.
