Cloncurry Pharmacy

If I could rate this business any lower maybe my experience with this tragic set up would be somewhat improved. I am always more than happy to support small town businesses on but from several bad experiences I would say save your time and travel the extra miles to Mt Isa. Cloncurry Pharmacy is poorly managed and even worse is the so called ‘qualified’ child they call their pharmacist. My husband and I witnessed the poor counter girls try to manage an influx of customers with scripts or general purchases while also being pushed and abused by their manager as she herself ignored customers and argued with clients for basic prescriptions. Then the best came around lunch time the pharmacist couldn’t be found at all as she apparently no longer felt that being present was necessary for a pharmacy. and when she was finally available she spent all MY time talking to her husband who felt it absolutely vital to take a seat in the centre of the room and involve himself in everyone’s business with inappropriate and invasive comments. Very uncomfortable to say the least. We have been told numerous times that scripts and products must be ordered from out of town and that is all we have be informed of, shall I guess when it comes in or will it just be forgotten? Forgive me pharmacist but I’m sure I heard you say multiple times that you were indeed the pharmacist... take some responsibility with that pathetic need for validation. The customers were forced to stand around for anywhere up to an hour with minimal communication from this fantastic qualified professional as the two poor counter girls clearly struggle to juggle the responsibilities of there weak management team. Honestly, Your scripts are in safer hands in the next town over. Don’t waste your time here. Hope the poor counter girls find some better opportunities this places was shocking.

Popped in while holidaying in the outback, very helpful pharmacist and the store has a great range of knick knacks.

I was roadtrippin Australian when my girlfriend got a very simple urinary tract infection for which she just needed a single dose antibiotic. I am a 29yo doctor from Italy, not registered in Australia, but I always bought antibiotics or medicines both in Australia and around the world showing my registration card. The 3 young (and apparently not very experienced about medicine) did not know the antibiotic I asked for and totally refused to sell us the antibiotic, probably thinking I was cheating about being a doctor (they did not even check my card). Even when they noticed the town's doctor could not see us they did not help us. For law they are not supposed to sell antibiotics without prescription or to doctors not registered in Australia but I don't think it was the real reason. Nice shop anyway

Nice little country chemist but there are serious attitudes held by the young blondes behind the counter. A smile and removal of the massive chip on the shoulder would go a long way
