Lookout 589 at the Glasshouse Mountains is a most beautiful place with the ancient landscape spreading out to the ocean beyond. Especially when the weather is cool the short bush walk is very refreshing. You wind down through the forest crossing the many waterways that flow rapidly down especially in heavy rain, then a gentle climb with many hand made rock steps. Perhaps a stairway to heaven......most certainly an ancient landscape where for tens of thousands of years people have lived and walked....

Glasshouse is almost always clean, the smell of the ground toilets are off-putting I hope they get rid of it and just keep the running water toilets, I just use the men's bathroom because it isn't a stinky hole in the ground like the women's are. The view is great there is picnic areas with a barbecue and there is a small circuit to walk which takes you through the forestry, as well as a pagola for a higher view.

Absolutely spectacular. Even for winter it was most pleasant and quite warm. Great views and this spot is always maintained to a very high standard. Must to visit .

Unexpectedly nice! Lovely view and picnic spot (barbecue as well). You can walk in the bush. No rubbish bin.

We went by the raving reviews so thought we’d drop in here on our way past and really thought it’s a bit over rated. We’ve seen better views of the same mountains from other places. I’d say it was better years ago before trees in the foreground had grown up. We had our caravan on tow, so be warned it’s a steep climb If you are towing so only go if you’ve got a powerful car towing and there isn’t much space to park with a van. We managed to park on the opposite side of the road to the car park, but it’s not super flat. Then we managed to do a uturn a bit further up the road at a T intersection, check it out on google maps satellite view before you attempt it if towing.
