Mt Ngungun was very beautiful and a good experience overall. The walking track is in superb condition and easy to follow. Easy climb for teenagers and young people, no problem's there. Mid - level of fitness required. Good shoes are a must! Make sure you stop mid - way and admire the stunning cave. The view from the top is so rewarding. Could see as far as Morton island. I recommend Mt Ngungun for a early winters morning.
My favourite of the Glass House Mountains to climb for the views. 360 degree panoramic views. The climb is short and steep with a little rock scrambling at the end. Added safety has been introduced with rope barriers, which can also aids climers up steep rock sections if their legs aren't so good. I would advise people to go up during the weekdays as it's not so busy then. My favourite time is sunrise.
Extraordinary and amazing view at the summit, you can see 360 degrees of any direction at the summit. The route from the bottom to the summit is mostly rocks with rock stairs going up. Overall, both climbing and coming down are pretty easy and relaxed. If you’re a fast walker or running, it will probably take you about 40 minutes. Otherwise it will probably take around 1 hour to 1.5 hours depends on your speed. Overall, it was a great experience for a family trip and definitely can recommend for everyone!
This is the first of the Glasshouse Mountains that I have climbed and I am told it is the best one to start with if you plan to conquer any number of these amazing geological marvels. So long as you have trained for it by doing a few up hill and down dale walks beforehand, this is a great mountain with which to start. The paths, tracks and stairs have been professionally laid and are superbly maintained. The stonemasons who were responsible for creating these paths and stairs in an ecologically sound way have created features that enhance the natural beauty of Ngungun without spoiling it in any way. I thoroughly recommend a visit.
Great short walk up the mountain and a lovely view at the top. Good for virtually all ages.nIt's truly a crack up that the Insta crowd take pics at this place as if they've conquered Mount Everest!
