I look forward to visit post office as I feel like family with the staff , especially the manger and his wife as my elders , they treat local community as a family . And comes out of their way to help locals . Thank you

These staff did not do their job properly and tried to blame me when I asked for a refund....nI went to this PO's service counter and said “I need to send these documents via registered mail to a local address.” I was holding the documents (an inch of A4 papers in a clear plastic folder) in the window’s service slot. The server - Razia - asked “do you want an A4 size envelope or larger?” I said “I don’t know, whatever will fit. I can take them out if that will help?” She didn’t ask me to take them out or weight them but just proceeded to give me a larger than A4 postal envelope. I paid for it ($7.20) and she told me to fill it in and bring it back to her. I did so. Razia put it all on the scales (it weighed 900g) and told me “It’s too heavy to send in this envelope. You can only use it for up to 500g”. I said “ok, can I have whatever I need to send it then?” Razia said “you will need to send it as a package”. I said “that’s fine”. Razia then said “I gave you that one because you told me that you only had a few pages to send”. I would normally have let an incorrect and unnecessary comment like that pass, but it seemed that it was pointedly said to direct the ‘blame’ for a minor mistake to me. I replied nicely “I didn’t say that, I have to send lots of pages - so I wouldn’t have said only a few pages”. Razia then tried unsuccessfully to fit all the documents into an A4 size plastic package envelope. She said “they don’t fit into the A4 one so you will need a larger one for $15”. I said “Sure, can I get the refund on the first envelope please?”. She said “No, you should have asked for the right envelope for what you needed”. I replied “I never asked for that envelope, I told you that I wanted to send these documents and I had them all together inside this clear file when I came to the counter. You were the one who gave me the wrong envelope”. Razia said “I can’t refund you as this envelope can’t be used as it has writing on it”. I replied “but you should have given me the correct envelope”. Then another ‘helpful’ server who had just come out from the back area felt the need to intervene and informed me “you should know what you are posting and told us that it weighed more”. At this stage I was a little perturbed to say the least. I replied ”I don’t know what envelope’s are required - that’s why I came to the counter, if you won’t give me a refund how to I lodge a complaint?” Razia told me to go to the Aust Post web site. Throughout this Razia and the other server were exchanging semi-smiles with each other. I asked Razia “Why are you smiling at each other? What is so amusing to you about this?” Then the other ‘helpful’ server - bless her heart - said “you can keep the original envelope and use it to send something else later”. I said “are you stupid?” The ‘helpful‘ server got a little upset and said “we can refuse service and want you to leave”. I said “absolutely, I don’t want your service and I will be lodging a complaint and getting my money back”. I left, rang Aust Post and explained the situation. The Aust Post gentleman apologized for the poor service and for their refusal to refund. He said that it was very unusual and they should have refunded me for an envelope that I could not use and was not posted – even if 'I' had asked for the wrong one (which I had not). He refunded me the $7.20 and lodged a complaint on my behalf.nI went to the Fremantle Post Office and asked for exactly the same. Guess what - they weighed the documents before giving me an envelope. AND they recommended an ‘Express’ A4 registered envelope that was the same price ($15) as for the NON-express larger than A4 registered envelope that Razia ended up selecting. Not surprisingly, I managed to easily fit all the documents into the A4 envelope.nI do hope Razia and the staff there get the training they need in customer service skills, selecting correct postal envelopes, fitting documents into said envelopes and on Australia Post’s refund policy and Australian laws requiring refunds for items sold that are not fit for purpose.

Never been here with more than one staff member on. Very often a line of 5+ people. Expect to wait 10-20 mins to be served even during the day

Staff are friendly enough but it's just too busy & small for the amount of postal drop offs this site receives. Parking sucks too unfortunately.☹
