This is a review of James Robinson who now works at Violin Place. I was an apprentice and worked with James at Paul Schuback's Violin Shop in Portland, Oregon sometime in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I remember that James had an extraordinary knowledge of the repair and construction of violins, viola, cellos, and basses. He answered my countless questions and was a tireless, patient, and careful craftsman. I can truly say the he added tremendously to that shop! I was there and saw it on a daily basis. Schuback was indeed very lucky to have James.
