These guys are a terrible company. Told us we ‘may’ be insured if we continued to travel in March but couldn’t guarantee it. Wouldn’t give us a refund for the remaining 4 months on our policy after we returned home. Also wouldn’t cover our trip interruption claim - we came home when the Government of Canada adviser all Canadians return home.nAlso made us provide proof that our car/house/province/credit card wouldn’t cover us for a small medical claim - we were never able to complete the paperwork to their satisfaction so they wouldn’t approve it. We did have a receipt from the local doctor, who did complete the World Nomads forms.

I bought travel insurance through World Nomads as I was going to be flying to the Philippines and then COVID-19 started and flights were cancelled so I contacted World Nomads by email to get a refund as I wouldn't be able to fly, and finally I got a response after waiting for quite awhile and they said that they had lots of people to deal with because of this Virus and they would get to me when they can, which I guess is understandable.nnSo they eventually got around to me in another email and told me that since my policy was past their 30 day refund date I wouldn't be able to get my money back, which I found to be very unethical during this time because it was not my fault that I couldn't fly overseas and other overseas insurance companies and flight companies were refunding their customers due to this Virus.nnThey did offer to extend my policy so I can use it some other time but that is pretty much useless as who knows when anyone will be able to go overseas safely.nnSo I think when I am eventually able to travel overseas I will be finding a more professional and caring company to get my travel insurance from, even if it costs more money.nnPolicy Number: WNAUS19534867

Zero communication. I purchased a travel insurance policy through World Nomads but cannot find proof of it in either my email or through my online account. I called the number on their website but that is for claims only. I was given an email address and was told for non-claims communication it's email only. Absolutely ridiculous. I've sent multiple emails and they've gone absolutely nowhere. My next step is to work with my bank to get my money back since it's obvious World Nomads email-only policy is used to ignore customers' problems.

Totally blindsided when they refused to pay out my claim for a stolen bag. They can easily invoke some vaguely worded clause to avoid keeping their end of the bargain. This on top of slow response time. Run away from this company!

I went to Singapore for 5 days and took out a policy with World Nomads. It was the best $82 I ever spent as I ended up in hospital 12 hours later needing to have an emergency surgery to remove my septic gallbladder. World Nomads, through their insurance provider, picked up the $30,000 hospital bill and called me every day to make sure I was getting the best attention. I would never travel abroad without World Nomads.
