GREAT FOR MALES ONLYnPrior to todays experience I would have reviewed this barber highly as I used to be able to walk in (during off peak times) and receive a women's haircut for a very reasonable price. I had been served by the older gentlemen who I kept going back to see (I have nothing negative to say about him). However, today I travelled over half an hour to receive a haircut from this barber shop during a peak period and had the most patriarchal, misogynistic and disrespectful experience. The older gentlemen who I had previously seen was working there along with other younger barbers. I waited patiently as it was busy but every single man who had come in after me was instructed to go before me. The men in the store refused to acknowledge me. Perhaps there are cultural reasons behind this however, I don't believe this excuses sex discrimination. I will never return to this barber as I would prefer to pay over 6 times the price where I feel comfortable that I will be treated with respect.

The first time I came here the guy that cut my hair was lovely and happy to do a cut on women's hair (shaved sides only, no ladies style cut).nWhen I came back again I was served by a different man who was extremely rude to me, refused to cut my hair even though I only wanted the sides shaved.nHe finally agreed to shave the sides and then charged me more despite it taking the same amount of time as the men's shave did.nIt's a shame as the first experience here was great, but won't be coming back now.
