Gheerulla Falls

You can get up close when you do the whole walk.nPath is wide and fairly even mostly the way.nDownhill from the carpark but up hill all the way back

Good walk to the falls. Decent walk uphill on the way out. After rain is ideal for the best waterflow.

Its off the beaten track. And the track was a little overgrown and there was some flood damage (fallen trees). Its a great short walk to a nice secluded waterfall. We virtually had the track to ourselves in a wonderful little bit of unspoilt rainforest. The road to it is gravel but smooth enough for a sedan. Not sure whether the pool would be suitable for swimming its coke-coloured due to tannins from the forest and it looked shallow. It was raining so we didn't try it out.

This first trip was an exercise stride out to loosen the muscles from an intense week in the office. Walk is posted at 1.2 km from Delicia Rd so was ideal for a heart starter so we picked up the pace to burn calories. 1.5 km later we got to the small series of steps leading up to falls proper. WOW the site of the tall cascade from atop the cliff was beautiful. The falls tumble into a magic swimming hole and I have earmarked that for a mid-day swim in the near future. The walk back to the road was all uphill so it was indeed a calorie burning exercise! Great to be alive!
