The location and staff were great; unfortunately there are a few cons: the first section of campground was all DIRT. Each site is marked off by a rail or two. In addition to that, the campground is tucked snugly between the lake and the train, which seems to go by at least 5 times a night - and in a tent you can feel the ground shake. Beach access is down a flight of stairs, unless you walk down toward the dog beach. For pros, it has a big bathroom with sinks, flush toilets and pay-by-the-minute showers, and is kept quite clean (aside from the spiders). There is also a wash tub in the bathroom (think toddler bath), and 2 big wash tubs outside the bathroom for dishwashing. There are large cedars and birches peppering the site which add shade and beauty. Yes, it has access to a dog beach- though it wasn't great for human swimming. Our kids loved the playground. Though small and awkwardly shaped our tenting site was only one row off the beach and had a great lake view through the row of lakeside trailers. The mini golf is free and though it looks simple, it was a fun activity on a cool morning.

Awesome campsite along the river! Nice little getaway from reality! The place is kept up nicely! The 3 gentlemen that work there really keep the place in order! Really enjoyed ourselves! Hopefully get there again soon, but next summer for sure.

Those place gets a solid 3 stars from me, I'd go 3.5 if that was an option. Episode been 2 except you can tell the staff work pretty hard at maintaining the place. Rates are reasonable, there's a dishwashing sink, flush toilets and pay showers available and they always seemed to be reasonably clean so the amenities are decent. The beach is nice enough but the water was pretty gross, we didn't even want to wade out deep enough to find clean water because it so murky. The campground itself had very little grass and the grounds are quite dusty. Tent sites are all pretty close together (and dusty) while most of the good lakeside spots are permanently occupied. And the trains. Oh the trains. Amazing place to go if you or your kids like watching trains but if the sound of them might bother you then stay away, there's no avoiding the noise.

We called ahead to confirm a camp site was available and when we arrived they had no record of our call, but gave us one that was full when we got to it, and then told us there wasn't any other ones available... But then gave us a beautiful lake front spot... Overall enjoyed our stay but it was a bit of a ruckus getting it

Have no reasons to gives less than 5 stars. Awesome spot, right next nice beach and beautiful lake. Friendly staff Editing it after second visit and this time with kids & for longer duration: Dirty Washrooms and Oil spilled on beaches, Not safe for kids to play
