Johnston Canyon Campground

There is limited parking so you have to park on the road 1-2 km away. The river and falls themselves are pretty but require a 2-5 km walk to see them. Athabasca falls is 11x nicer and easily accessible.

A great spot to set out for a hike. Wonderful viewing opportunities around.

Great campground, good amenities, friendly neighbours and staff. Pleasant low stress camping at an affordable price. :D

Big sites. Good spacing between sites. Firewood is included. Drinkable tap water. Showers are included. Alcohol consumption is prohibited after 11 pm and possession is prohibited during holiday long weekends. At 11 pm someone came around reminding us it was time to put the fire out. The train runs along the south of the campground. It's a medium distance away for a mountain campgrounds. You will hear it but it's not as loud as some campgrounds.

Nice campground surrounded by trees. Perfect for Johnston Canyon hikers. You can hear train sounds quite loud & often and could waken up it. Shower water is ice cold. Fire wood is provided (if its not fire ban period). Over all clean & nice place.
