Cute & cozy, very old with character & if walls could talk I bet there'd be stories! Clean enough for what it is, decent price for a pet friendly place to spend the night. Beautiful building for photographs.

If there were a way to leave a negative star I would award a -5 plus rating!! Who is writing these reviews??? This has been one of the all- time WORST experiences of our lives!! We were greeted by a friendly but confused receptionist who want sure they’d even gave us the keys to our room; found our room down the second floor hallway past a condemned stairway to a third floor; the room was freezing and it took 30 minutes for the baseboard heater to warm the room; then the pounding heavy metal music from the pub we were practically on top of started and throbbed in our room till late in the night; when it stopped we were privy to the conversations taking place in the next room as the walls were paper thin; felt unsafe even leaving our room until daylight; absolutely horrid experience I would not wish upon my worst enemy! The reviews and publicity regarding this property are fabricated and misleading! There is a vast difference between “historic” and “slummy”!!

I have stayed in 3 or so in Powell river. Today is not new but has clean rooms that feel like home, not a "cookie cutter room" and a neat loby that feels like the place. Sit around a fire and play a game of cards or look at art and history of Powell river. Just say yes.

I was on bike and it was the only room available for the night. I think I paid roughly $100. The place definitely has some history; it’s old. I’m sure back in the day it was the bees knees but time has been hard on her. But it had a bed, white towels and sheets, and an air conditioner. The owner was nice. I won’t lie, first thing i did when I got into my room was search google for ghost sightings at the hotel. 🤭
