Porpoise Bay Provincial Campground

This is a nice campground. The sites are pretty well spaced apart & there's trees & bushes to make your site feel more private but I only gave it 2 stars because there are no fire pits at individual campsites. There is only a group fire pit & it has to be turned off by 10:30. For me, the best part of camping is having your own fire pit at your campsite & being able to have a fire for as long as you want. If you have a gas fire pit, then it's fine but we had no idea that this place was gonna be like this.

No campfires in sites

Such a beautiful place but terribly managed!! Why close all campsites in October? We live in a great climate and can camp all year round. I think its pure laziness that they completely close campsites. Oh yeah there is an option to camp in a parking lot!!! TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT. I want to take it over and keep it open all year!!

There are only 3 firepit in the camping ground. You need to share with others. The time is 5pm-10:30pm. And also there are firewood provided by the park. Do not necessarily need to bring your own. Save some space.

Holy moly, I should not tell you this but, this is a well kept secret. Air is fresh, water from ocean is beautiful, layout is excellent, no mosquitos!!!!!! Has flushing toilet and shower. has a group site and overflow. Beautiful campground, especially when the moon is on the water......Nice short trip on the ferry and close to all amenities. Better than Golden Ears, sorry my opinion.
