Stayed here for a couple nights over the summer. Super nice location and friendly staff. Very easy to find as it is close to where you get off the ferry. There are bathrooms, showers and drinking water available. Only con is our personal campsite wasn’t very private and could see directly into the people’s campsite beside us. I will say this: DO THE HOLE-IN-THE-WALL HIKE TO SWALLOWTAIL LIGHTHOUSE! It is a mediocrely challenging hike which took us about 3 hours, therefore I would not recommend for small children or elderly. The whole time you are walking along the cliffs of the island where you can see some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever see in your life guaranteed. Also saw lots of seals and whales on this hike! Ask the staff at the campground and they will direct you on the path.

Nice wooded park for camping. Typical campground sites and feel. The cliff trails and hole in the wall are a must see for everyone going to the island. Nice owner who showed us simple tips for in and around the park and island. Honor system for paying for cheap showers and typical campground wood. Was foggy during our stay, and the foghorn did not subside, but we found it not too loud to interrupt our time there and we actually enjoyed it. When we moved on we ended up missing the fog horn's companionship. I could see it being too loud in the past for the now defunct cliff camping sights.

My girlfriend and I went to Grand Manan and stayed at this campground for 4 nights. Originally it was 6 nights, but not being able to have a campfire while we were there was disappointing and since we normally cook all our food on the fire, other than snacks, we ended up having over 100$ of food go to waste. The weather was superb though, 70's and sunny almost every day. The island is quaint, and some of the locals are very friendly. I would beware of going during the dry season though if you are someone like us who likes s'mores and cooks on the fire. Bring a gas stove if you can. The campground prices (after tax came out to about about $34 a night) were good, but the campgrounds firewood seemed over-priced for the amount you got (we are from the states, maybe it is different in Canada), not that we needed it while we were there. 2$ per shower per person was steep, compared to free or 50 cent showers in the US, but at least they had hot water (assuming no one flushed a toilet). The views from our site, which was a cliff edge, were absolutely phenomenal. We saw seals and whales from out campsite, and even had a bald eagle fly over our heads (within 5 feet) on 2 separate occasions (which coming from the US was awesome as we had never seen one before). I would recommend the campground but temper your expectations of the management. For the sites though, they cannot be beat. In terms of things to do on the island, the basics can be covered in less than 2 full days (South Head, North Head, most beaches, and even White Head Island). If you want to get a more in depth look, I would recommend 4 nights, 5 days. Dark Harbour I found to be a lot of fun, so do that, and stop by South Head during sunset for a beautiful view. If you do plan on eating out, watch out for prices as they are insanely high (we are used to 12$ cheese pizzas in Massachusetts at most, not 25$), and the exchange is not that good as to make it acceptable. If you are someone who lives near the ocean and are used to good seafood, the seafood here is not better, just more expensive. Still worth it if you have 17$ to spend on 5 scallops and a handful of fries (sunset fisheries). I found the experience to be fun, but be wary that the island does not take a week to fully enjoy and that its a slow-moving experience, so make sure to bring a book or two to read and plenty of money to spend for food/gas/etc. Would I go again? Maybe in 20 years, but not anytime soon.

We stayed on a cliff top site, gorgeous views of the ocean and fishing boats! Private and very quiet back country camping. Staff were all very friendly and down to earth. Clean bathrooms hot showers and water hose with drinkable water to fill containers. Nice hiking trails and a beautiful view of the hole in the wall.
