Great location, but that’s about all this place has going for it. A campground is only as good as the people running it and this is where this place falls short. Being under surveillance 24/7, unsanitary conditions in the clubhouse, a playground that looks like a weed infested mud bowl, Covid rules not followed and no access to emergency first aid. If you enjoy gossip, drama and arbitrary rules then this is the spot for you. Making friends, gathering and enjoying each other’s company over a meal or a campfire is considered a cult. Costs and corners are cut at every opportunity, activities cancelled to save them money and then you get soaked on your power bills. You gotta ask why so many people have chosen to leave.
I have read all the comments about Ocean Breeze RV Park, from my fellow RV 'cult members' (as we were accused of being), and I wholeheartedly agree with every comment. To that, I would also like to add, that in any RV park friendships with like minded people who share common interests generally group together. So I 'strongly' take exception to the owner of Ocean Breeze RV Park thinking he had the right to tell us who, and who we could not be friends with! We are not children and did not need to be chastised by management...this is, after all, just an RV park, not a dictatorship, so stop managing it like it is one!!
Beautiful Spot, but management is horrible! If you like gossip, and being talked about behind your back... this is the place for you! It’s a shame because it’s such a beautiful spot, but the manage”her” Ruins this place. :(
Appears beautiful on the outside. nice wide open views on the ocean. Residents take care of their rented lots with pride. There is a playground for children, a large fire pit and a Clubhouse with laundry and 2 powder rooms (no showers).
After spending 2 seasons, this is what we found:
Its like living in a fishbowl, you are being watched continuously.
Management feels they can come on your deck and share all information about others in the park.
Residents are not encouraged to use any of the amenities (Clubhouse is often locked for fear of vandalism or theft even though cameras are all around inside and out) and complain about the cost of providing basics like soap and TP.
The WIFI works intermittently and only inside and just outside the clubhouse.
It is frowned upon to form any friendships or plan any fun events with like minded neighbours. You may be called a "cult".
Suggestions or requests are considered criticism. We have heard on many occasions from management that if you don't like it, you can leave. SO THIS IS WHAT 30% of the park did.
In June 2019 we arrived at Ocean Breeze excited about our new adventure. We were in the latest section of the park with lots of mud. We very quickly built a deck and put gravel around our unit and driveway to stop tracking mud. Unfortunately our enthusiasm only lasted a week, management came to us and told us how bad our neighbour was for 1.5 hrs. After departing our site my husband looked at me and said “what the .....have we just done. Our first year was not happy and we did not spend a lot of time there. Over the next months we did check out seasonal parks to look at relocating but unfortunately no vacancies. These were parks with 280-300 sites, you would think there would be considerable change over...but no one moving.
2020 with Covid 19 rules made for a different season. Getting together with a few neighbours we decided we would come up with some events that we could enjoy together and also stay within the Covid rules. We were so pleased to get to spend some quality time with the neighbours and get to know them better. Unfortunately our behaviour was not appreciated by the management of the park and the end of September as we were enjoying a fire management came and called us a cult and said we were causing issues for his park. He recommended us to move to another park as he had a list of 50 people who he can quickly fill the sites. He said we did not respect them, how he could say that when all our lawns had been seeded, fertilized, mowed and beautiful gravelled driveways done by the occupant. To me that showed total respect and if I had been management would have told residents how pleased I was to have such great people.
There were 10 units that took his advice and moved on. Advise to anyone who makes the decision to cal Ocean Breeze home...do not build a deck or put a shed in until you are really sure this is where you want to be.
