Good little (not that small, but compare to other lake side campground) campground with lake side access. Personal experiences, but compare to other lake side campground, this place wasn't that crowded, probably, campers didn't need to pack up all shelters to watch their kids. (like Gull Lake, Sylvan Lake, ppl need to have something to stay long, but beach area in this campground is so close to the campsite.) I was there in 2020 August long weekend.

It’s on a lake, but not water I want to necessarily swim in (ever heard of duck itch? I hadn’t, until I swam here). I’ve heard that if you rinse off really well as soon as you get out of the water, you won’t get “the itch”. Let me know how that goes. They do have a boat launch and it’s a big lake so great for paddleboarding, kayaking or jet skiing. The kids love the sandy beach and playground. So if you have kids, that’s a thumbs up. Paid showers. Flush toilets. Sinks with running water. Though the showers smell of sulphur (I think?) so you might not love that experience. It took some getting used to, to say the least. The spots are not private. They’re close together. Very “parking lot-camping” so if you’re looking for nice treed, private camping spots..look elsewhere. They have a snack shack on site. Decent prices. Decent selection of snacks. Thumbs up there. They also sell firewood on site and trust me when I tell you to just buy it there instead of driving all the way into town to find that you are buying the same bag of wood at the same price but you just wasted your time and gas to figure that out.

I guess it's my fault for not looking up pictures before I booked, but this is more of a parking lot than a campground. There are 0 trees between sites. Our site was legitimately the size of a single parking stall. The site was so small, there wasn't space for our 3 person tent and the car. The tent touched the firepit. There were some larger sites closer to the lake that looked better. I do not think that Site #1 should be considered a paid spot. On a positive note, there were lots of small kids and the beach looked very family friendly. Although swimmers itch was present and AHS doesn't do water testing at this location, something to consider if you want to swim. We ended up leaving and getting a site at Pigeon Lake, which has more tree coverage and space between campsites.

Fantastic family outing. Wet water and very friendly people. Five pelicans came over to visit and say hello. A place to visit and enjoy the beach.

Beach great. Campsites are close together and Walmart would be more welcoming. We found most people snobs and rude which is a shame considering the close quarters. Amenities are good. Showers clean and nice concession. If you like group camping this is for you. If you want a break and a xhance to unwind keep looking
