Dr Norman J Bull

Please read if you are considering sedating your child for cavities in baby teeth.. We saw Dr Bull twice, when my son was three and six. Both times my son had cavities and Dr Bull recommended full sedation which we agreed to. The sedation was extremely traumatizing for my son and for us. Outside of the surgery my son's father was crying as he told me about holding him down.. as was the next father to come out of the room. There was a fundamental shift in how trusting our son was after those surgeries. I now know there are other options, ones we were not offered.

Doctor Norman wanted to put my daughter under anaesthesia because she had 5 cavities. They thought it was easier. Easier for (him). According to him it was too many cavities.As a parent I freaked out because I know about the risks of anaesthesia. I asked him. Could you please try at least one filling while she is awake ? He said NO. But guess what I wanted a second opinion . So I booked an appointment with Doctor Anitta in Oak Bay. A qualified dentist paediatric for kids. I couldn’t be more happy . From the very first time I told her that I wanted to give it a try. She said. Of course, Why not . But guess what ? My daughter got her 5 fillings done awake. No hard time. No tears. She behaved way better than me as an adult. So if you have been told by Doctor Norman that your kid has to go under anesthesia. Get a second opinion because this doctor is very very SENSITIVE

I was not impress today, took two of my kids to the dentist. my boy has some anxiety with dentist and doctors. After a few minutes of struggling managed to get him in, Dentist did his check up but chose not to do his cleaning. they chose not to tell me that. when it comes to my daughter everything went well . very quick for a cleaning. felt like five minutes. it took longer to wait to sign the papers than to do the check ups and cleaning. when my wife called they told her that my kids was hiding under the desk and that is why they did not do the cleaning. They told me nothing. I am very annoyed at how incompetent the staff is at the office. not impress with the level of service. it is a children's dentistry? I am sure my kid is not the only one that has problems going to a dentist. yours trully A very annoyed Customer

I have been going to Dr.Bull since I was 3 and each time I have gone it has been really fun! The setup is really good and I like how they have the one wall that blocks the entrance painted with all these cartoon character's! It is a really fun dentist and probs the best! They are also really good cause they always tell you what they r going to do and make sure you are comfortable!

Great with kids however Dr Raos work is shoddy at best. First my son's tooth was drilled too far so it died. My daughters crown fell out and I tried getting her in for months then I finally gave up. They wanted to charge me an extra 350 bucks per child as a booking fee at the hospital when other dentists didn't charge and they never used to either. Went to a new dentist and they didn't even have to put them to sleep for the work! I don't recommend this dentist.
