WELL Health - Brickyard Medical Clinic

I have read the most recent posts in the comment suggestion, and I have attended the clinic sporadically over the last decade whenever my family doctor is unavailable. Brickyard is a below average clinic. Regardless of how the manager/owner may pay lip service to future changes, the reality is that clinics are not family doctors - we rush in, meet for 10 minutes or less, and we do not typically build a significant relationship. This morning I checked the website for the opening time which said 9am. When I arrived a sign on the door stated that the clinic would not be open till 10am. Trust me when I say this has happened consistently for years, and I often waited an extra hour. No one takes the time to make changes on the website and it is a huge waste of time for patients. The secretarial staff are business-like but not typically warm. People need to realize that the staff are overwhelmed by the demand to see doctors, and often there is a line-up outside 15 minutes or more before opening. That said, if you arrive well after opening - time slots will already be booked and you will simply have to wait. Lastly, I have enjoyed having Dr. Yu as a "back-up" doctor when my family doctor is unavailable. Without naming names, some doctors consistently arrive late which sets the day back for everyone. Thank you for reading my comments, which are much longer then typical. During these CO-VID times just been kind and don't expect too much from most clinics.

Horrible experience. So, I wait 1 hour as they posted opening at 9am on their website. Then it says 10am on their door. When they finally open 4th in line they say 1130am but I can't wait there (understandably). Because its a pre-existing condition I mentioned that to the receptionist she said I could either come back or do a phone consult. I choose the phone consult since it would have been half a day to see the doc at this point. She said between 1130am and 12pm. I wait till 1215 and then call. She then says she will call between 1230pm and 2pm when they close. Very rude!!! You are not important only their convince. Unfortunately this is the whole of BC for you

Receptionist needs to be nice ,very RUDE way to talk to patients.There is no cost to be nice 🙂

I have always had a good experience here except for my most recent visit with Dr. Philip. He did not take the time to understand what it was that I wanted, and as a result gave me a lab requisition that I had to pay for myself! I just felt like the next person in the assembly line of patients. When I went to see my family doctor a week later for the exact same reasons I had already seen him (what a waste of time), they were much more understanding and I got what I needed, no problem. I won't see him again.

Dr. Philip is my family doctor and I must say he is one of the best doctor. Listens carefully to all your concerns and patiently answers you. His wife Dr. Nisha Abrahim is very gentle and polite. I had all my prenatal visits with her.
