Live To Surf

Myself and my partner went to Live to Surf to try to rent a hooded wetsuit (which no shop in Tofino stocks as rentals - FYI), and were helped by Liam who took the time to understand our needs and in a non-pressure sales way offered to show us the hooded wetsuits they had for purchase. He was very knowledgeable on products and spent the time required to answer all our questions and explain the pros/cons of everything from the type of wetsuit, to the way the seams are sealed, the thickness, booties/gloves, etc. We ended up deciding just to purchase a new wetsuit with a hood as the ROI would be about the same as renting several times over the next few years so it just made sense. This experience with Liam would make me check out Live to Surf again the next time I'm in Tofino for anything/everything surfing.

Sorry to say but the 2 times I have been here the staff have been unfriendly, unsociable, rude and need a course on customer care and satisfaction. Not allowed in store without mask = what a joke. All the other surf shops in Tofino welcome you, no masks, appreciate your business. Never will I bother again. Without tourists you are nothing ! Respect them. If you own this shop then sort out the staff.

These guys were great with an easy process to book a surf lesson. Sadly the swell was too big for my beginner skills and the lesson had to be cancelled but they were really good about it. They punctually refunded the money (also offered a rebook but I was leaving the next day) and well they certainly cannot control the weather so it was best case scenario besides actually getting to head for a surf.

Rented surf boards and wet suits here! Quick and great prices, great location too. Highly recommend it.

We had used the Groupon vouchers in the past and found they were a great deal. So this summer we bought a couple more and headed up to Tofino. When we arrived, we were informed that Groupon should not have sold them as the deal had ended. The staff were very accommodating and tried their best to get us the same price as the Groupons. I will admit I was slightly annoyed as I had mentioned we had the Groupon in two prior conversations, but the manager got in touch with me and completely sorted everything out. So just want to say thanks and hopefully people will continue to support this great local store. I will also say I will not use Groupon anymore as they caused many issues for this store - book directly if possible everyone!
