Beautiful campground.... one of a kind, so far. Very quiet. Had an awesome evening , good sleep and a nice coffee the next morning....and the view...amazing! Decently priced, too. we will recommend it to friends and family .

This spot is not for everyone. You may love it or you may hate it, depending on what you are after. The setting is beautiful, lots of spots in a forest setting, some with ocean views; it’s close to port hardy and the ferry. Some sites have water and electricity. The sites are generally small and close together, but there are many of them so depending on when you arrive you may still have enough privacy. The toilets etc are rustic and definitely old, but they work and are clean. I hope this description is helpful considering this site gets lots of bad reviews. Personally I find it beautiful and I like it more than better serviced but busy sites near by.

This is a fantastic location/campsite for bird (eagle) watching. Complimentary fire wood 👍, great views of the water. Only down side is the sites are small are close together. We were here in late June and there was only one other group camping here so it was fantastic.

After reading so many negative reviews we were reluctant to even look at this campground, however having looked at some nearby campgrounds, most of which were close to the highway, we decided to check it out. Granted the office area needs to be more welcoming, but the washrooms and laundry were clean and tidy. Would have been nice to have a lock on the washroom door but the outer door locked so there really was no need for another lock unless another person was using the shower. Laundry was cheaper than any other site in the area and our quilt was fully dry in 45 minutes. The owner was friendly and chatty with us and the setting was in a gorgeous woody spot which the owner maintained meticulously. Our campsite overlooked the ocean bay and was tranquil with bald eagles flying above us. We had power and water which was an additional bonus which saved us having to use our own water and solar panel. We were only planning to stay here for one night but as it was so peaceful and quiet and close to town we ended up staying for 5 nights. If we ever come up this way again we would definitely stay here. It just goes to show that not everyone's experience has to be a bad one.

We arrived at the campground about 4pm to find there was no-one in the office but a note on the door invited visitors to self check in and pick an empty site. There were several sites with ocean views to pick from. The grounds were neat and tidy and well-maintained. The owner greeted us a few hours later at our campsite with a friendly smile and gave our puppy a treat. Our stay was very pleasant, relaxing and evenings were quiet as we were away from the highway traffic. We found the site a bit on the small side as we had a truck and camper so it would be nice if the sites were a bit bigger.
