Giant Fly-fishing Rod

Winding cathartically through the hills of B.C.’s interior I catch a distant glimpse of thin black stick on the horizon. Church steeple, I wonder? Limbed tree, I ask my companions? Nay, but on this, the 12th day of September in the two thousandth and twentieth year of our Lord I watch in wonder as the majestic profile of the largest freestanding fly fishing rod rises up over the highway, begging us to stop and bask in its radiance. Tears well up in my eyes as I try in vain to take it all in, this pinnacle of human achievement, it’s line tenderly coiled around the most rotund of reels on God’s green earth, it’s pole pointed perfectly to the heavens. Thank you, Houston’s Giant Fly Fishing Rod.

Hey this is a pretty nifty fly rod. Kudos to the team that put this together. And a beautiful little park to take a stroll through in the evening. The flowers are very nicely done.

This is the second largest finishing rod in the world. It was originally the largest, but if I'm not mistaken, the record was beaten by China in the early 2000s. The area is nicely maintained, and the stuffed grizzly nearby is beautiful.
