Great experience!
You should experience it atleast once💙💛
Nice to see some renovations at both ferry terminals. This is a leisurely way to commute to and from work if you live on the Dartmouth side. I recommend the ferry to tourists as well. For $2.75 you get on the water and can get some great views of the city (if it’s not foggy)
The ferry service between Halifax and Dartmouth is a GEM of a service!!! It ties the downtown areas of the two cities together very well, and the price is super!! Not often do you get a little boat ride in a major, world-class harbour for a couple of dollars. Places for bikes, the staff is friendly and keep you safe.... nothing at all not to like, in my opinion!!
While you may not think of the commuter ferry being something you would do on vacation, this is one of the best deals in town. You can take the Ferry from Downtown Halifax to Dartmouth and be treated by great views of the city that you would not get unless you paid a lot of additional money to pay for a tour that takes you out on the water. The ferries run on a regular schedule and you can pay the fair just once and ride both directions as long as you are only on the other side for less than 90 minutes. We ended up staying longer than that, but it was still worth the experience and providing us the opportunity to enjoy the food and beverages over on the Dartmouth side.
