Great campground and park

Very clean, firewood was nice and dry (buy pricey!). Covered cooking available for bad weather, which is a nice touch. Downside is the campsites are extremely close to each other - don't get much privacy and even with the campground not operating at full capacity we felt very close to our neighbours. Otherwise a great campground! Would def visit again but be careful of what site we book.

Big spacious federally run campground in spectacular natural settings surrounded by mountains, next to Cheticamp river, Robers Brook passes right through it, with 2 big trails, Acadian and Salmon Pools starting directly on the premices. Proximity of the fast running river and brook means you'll be hearing soothing sound of running water that feels like distant waterfall everywhere in the camp. It also means sound sleep every night. Visitor center and bookstore open everyday 9-5. Sites for every family and need, bigger and smaller, with electricity and water and without. Most have fireplaces, but not all. Make sure the one you book has it. If you are looking to experience more nature, seeing bright stars at night with almost no light pollution and you have a tent, than choose the furthest sites without electricity. All amenities are close by, you'll still be able to recharge your electronics, so you can get the most authentic unforgettable experience. From all campgrounds I stayed so far this is my favorite. Amazing location in close proximity to at least 10 well known trails, right next to Gypsum mine lake and only few kilometers away from Skyline trail. Highly recommend! Its a well known fact that big stretches of Cabot Trail don't have mobile connection or very weak one and campground is no exception. Drive 3.2 km towards town to convenience store where you can buy firewood and enjoy good mobile connection or drive further into Cheticamp. Do screenshots of weather forecasts and all maps you're planning to use for the day - chances are there won't be enough connection strength to access the maps when you're on the road or at the campground. It was never a problem for me. Its good to be without wi-fi and mobile for a while. Just stay organized and prepare ahead.

Nice place for a picnic. Children playground. Clean restrooms. BBQ places. But, you must ask of BBQ is allowed. If no rain for sometime, then you can't make a fire, to prevent forest fires.

The place is beautiful. This is the first time we have been back in 16 years. The facilities were great, campsite was good, except it didn't have a fire pit for some reason. The staff was a little inconsistent. The older staff were super friendly, but some of the younger staff were not very helpful, and seemed annoyed when questions were asked. I will chalk it up to Covid stress, and I will return to this beautiful place again.
