Fantastic selection. Very organized during covid and prices are good. As are the staff!

I just had a really unpleasant experience at this store today and that’s the reason I’m giving it one star. Me and my husband decided to stop by at this liquor store today, mind you we’d been there a few times before, him more times than me. We were in line to pay and there were two guys ahead of us. When they reached the cashier, she asked them both for two pieces of ID (they both looked like in their late 20s or 30s), to which they both responded they had forgotten their wallets. She asked them if they had them handy and could grab them to which one of them said “sure, I could get it from my car” so they both exited the store and she called us to ring us through. As we got close, my husband put the alcohol on the till and proceeded close to the exit as I was the one paying. She asked me for two pieces of ID, which I presented and then asked my husband. I told her he had forgotten his wallet (which was true since we had taken our bags back to the house and his wallet was left there by accident). So she refused selling alcohol to us because both of us had to have our IDs even if it was only me purchasing it. We accepted this, a little disappointed but we just said ok and left the store, as we knew this might happen. As we left the store we saw only one of the guys that didn’t have his ID before, come back to the store and we waited to see if he would be refused service as well or come out with alcohol despite his friend not having presented an ID. Sure enough he walked out with all the alcohol he had picked at the store. I immediately went back in and told this to the cashier and pointed out to her how unfair and biased she had been by refusing to sell me and my husband alcohol (both Latinxs by the way), because he didn’t have his ID on him even though I was making the purchase, while in front of us selling alcohol to two guys (both caucasian) when only one of them presented his ID. Of course her response was to apologize and told me that was the store policy and told me she didn’t need an ID from the other guy because she could see his gray hair sticking out from his mask. 😠🤨. Trust me, I would’ve loved to bring my husband back and show her his grey beard hair as well. My husband might look young but definitely not underage and he certainly DOES have grey hair as well. He is 35 years old and was refused service?! We understand and respect each store’s policies and we would’ve been ok to be refused service since we’re responsible for him not bringing his ID but how can these rules only apply to us? Why not to the caucasian people in front us? In that whole time, not once did any manager or ANYONE try to step in and provide further assistance. Needless to say, awful and BIASED service. The cashier was polite but the fact that she didn’t even recognize what she had done and empty-apologized as a reflex, did not solve or even tried to explain anything. It just made me understand that looking a certain way can definitely have its advantages or disadvantages at this place.

Tried to take back some empty bottles of wine and spirits, previously bought at this store. The employee noticed a tiny bit of rum in the bottom of one bottle. He said it was dirty and needed to wash it out before I could return it. Then he noticed a tiny bit of sediment in the bottom of a red wine bottle. He refused to accept any of my bottles and said I needed to wash them out first. I said I’d never heard of this requirement before in my many years of shopping at High Point. I told him I would take my bottles and business elsewhere.

Australian fellow here was extremely unprofessional. Their selection isn't that great. After purchase was completed for my mother I spoke my mind (completely legal freedom of speech) because it's a free country. He then took my mom's purchase from her and wouldn't give it back until I called him out in front of his manager about his childish behavior, he then tucked his tail and handed over the purchased item. Once the sale is complete it belongs to the purchaser so his actions were basically theft.
