Radium Hot Springs

Lovely quiet afternoon at the hot springs! We went on a Monday so didn't have to wait at all, and there were only about 20 people in the pool. The mist coming off the water was beautiful. Very friendly and helpful lifeguards on duty. Also saw a big horned ram on the hill which was awesome!

We waited about a half hour to get in since the pool was at capacity. They did a good job of ensuring you couldn’t go in until that many people had left. They also ask you to write down your contact details for potential contact tracing. However, there are a lot of people waiting in line inside the building and most of them aren’t wearing masks because it’s not a requirement. There is almost no distancing taking place in the line so there are dozens of people without masks standing too close together. Parks Canada, please enforce mask wearing inside the building while people are waiting in line.

Lifeguards are all really nice and chatty and informative. Pools are clean, could be a little hotter though. If you know the spots there are places where the jets come out that are hotter.

We waited 3 hours to get in. Pool is very nice, feels relaxing and beautiful to swim in between mountains. The cold pool was the highlight, very fun and has a nice deep end, it was also mostly empty and we had the pool to ourselves most of the time ! Due to Covid this is the only hot springs currently open. The upkeep is very well maintained, we saw the staff regularly cleaning and sanitizing the bathrooms.

Radium Hot Springs are closed. You can still sit at the picnic tables and look at the pool.
