BC Liquor Stores

In my experience the staff have always been great here, but the store is small and lacks a lot of products that you can find elsewhere. Something I have always found curious (from observation and conversations whilst in line) is that many of the patrons in this area are searching for a higher end or specialty product. And yet those are not available at this location. Most of the stuff are fantastic. However, it truly is luck of the draw on whether or not you're going to get a seasoned staff member who has great insight and ability to give recommendations versus someone who will literally just point you to the direction of where wine versus spirit is. I'm surprised there's not a specialist that's available at least a few times a week . Or maybe there is and they just haven't advertised it. This plus the ability for individuals to come in and wipe out an entire stock shelf is why I give this location three stars. Perhaps this is a province-wide liquor store oversight, but the ability for representatives for commercial / restaurants to come in and buy out a full shelf of one item, especially when it is something that is hard to source, should not be happening. This is aside from a commercial account that has a large pre-order. For instance one of the products I enjoy (and the only one that I can drink from allergy) has limited availability, especially here as a small store. Yet it is almost always sold out and I have heard on more than one occasion that one individual "wiped them out". Apparently that item is not available for the commercial pre-order and that means that somebody from their establishment is coming in and buying them all at once. A personalized beef for sure, but yet I don't think anyone individual including myself should be able to walk in with a shopping cart and buy everything of one item including all the stock from the back. I mentioned this because it has happened repeatedly and not as a one-off. regardless of the store it is like all the other BC liquor stores. If you know exactly what you want and doing a pop in then you will have the same experience as anywhere in the province. If you want something special or a recommendation, you may be fortunate and have a great experience IF you are there when one of the more seasoned employees is working that day.

Forced my immuno-suppressed girlfriend to show 2 pieces of id and take her mask off (which is fine), but the dolt "serving" her refused to accept photo ID and her AHS card, claiming the AHS card required a signature? Meanwhile, I, a 22 year old man (same age as my girlfriend) was not asked for my ID, nor was I asked to remove my mask. When I stated my intent to make another purchase I was told I could not do so. The man who served my girlfriend deserves to be written up for his awful customer service, as this is blatantly sexist and ableist, do not shop here under any circumstances if you believe in equality.

Typical government run business staff won't tell you you have to pay a dime for a bag, until after you use your card...duh

Needed to pick up alcohol for the seniors at the for the home I work for staff was quite helpful
