Wow, the store was a dream. Definitely the kind of place that is just my style. But the customer service was really anxiety provoking. I was trying to enjoy some shopping post work and the person at the front of service (Friday May 22nd) really lacked proper boundaries. She kept oversharing how bad her day was going without any prompts from me. She also had strange agro vibes with customers entering the store and I really felt bad for people entering the store- getting accosted with her tone of voice, and her choice of language as she mandatorily sprayed them with her sanitizer. I tried to assume the best that she was having a tough day but she just continuously brought her bad vibe to every person. Letting each person know what was going wrong in the store that day, and bad mouthing previous customers that she had gotten into squabbles with. Apparently she told a customer wearing gloves that they straight up couldn't come in. She was going on about her nursing training and really judging this customer. I can grasp how stressful COVID has been, but if you are that uncomfortable with human beings, that you see them as potential threats, customer service just isn't your field right now. And through all of this, I was just like dude shut up! I just got off work and I'm trying to destress. Read the room! Have some respect for other people by not trash talking your customers. I mean come on, when store workers trash customers in front of other customers how safe do you think they feel in leaving the store. We just picture you trash talking us. For a store named neighbourhood, they seem to not understand how community works. Also please- have some respect for people who may need to be in their own space. Have some boundaries in what you talk about. The amount of self-absorption was through the roof. I had to leave because I was starting to feel unwell. Not sure if I'll go back. Which is unfortunate because like a said, this store was the bomb.
