Beautiful and friendly spot if looking for a little creature

I'm not from the province, but was here visiting a friend. I'm big into fish keeping and went in to see if I could find anything to bring home plus browse. They had a great assortment of fish that you don't see often I wish I could bring some home. I did notice that the plants didn't look good,and there were unhealthy fish, but to be honest fish get shipped not healthy and things happen. I did find some of the care of the reptiles and birds poor. The employees themselves were great. Seemed very knowledgeable and passionate. I know that the way things are aren't always in their control. Store managers and corporate decide that stuff. I work in a pets store myself. Overall enjoyed the visit.

The staff were super helpful and friendly. Had to return an item amd they were very understanding and provided me with above and beyond customer service. Highly recommend😁

I just started in the fish keeping hobby and found all the staff really helpful and knowledgeable. They were clearly busy with cleaning and stocking shelves but would go out of their way to chat / ask if i needed anything without bugging. I had a issue with a tank I brought home and they were quick to replace the missing item with no hassle ( I didn't expect that) I plan to do all my shopping there if possible in the future as most items were reasonably priced

Went to this store to get a new bird after the one that we had passed away. And the two people in the store basically intagerated my mom and I asking what we did wrong. Questions they asked: " How did it die?" "What were you doing when it died?" " Were you cooking? The fumes would kill it." "How old was the bird because they record age is 30." The bird (budgie) was about 8 years old. Which is their life span of 5-10 years. They told us they can life to about 30. Not true. Made us feel like we did something wrong to cause the death of our bird after we were devastated that our beloved bird had passed. I do not go to this pet value anymore as they have lost a customer. I go to the one on Prince street. The staff on Prince street are more friendlier than the staff at pet value on grand lake road.
