I'm not sure what happened to this store but when Phil was at the Building centre pro help desk, it was the best place to shop for materials to build. Lately the staff they had there have been unwelcoming, un-interested and unhelpful. It's three separate times, three different ladies that are put there too. We spend up to 15k a year sometimes on business related purchases and other personal purchases. We went there the other day to purchase almost 1200$ of OSB material and asked for help to load the material on our truck. The lady at the front told us to "load it ourselves". As if hauling 30+ full sized boards onto the cart would be "easy peasy". Either way, after hauling 12+ boards onto the cart and realizing that not only was it tedious and back breaking work, we'd have to haul it the other way to the truck. We gave up and spent only $400. A simple forklift would have saved time and gotten us out of the store faster than lugging it by hand. Sorry to have bothered the lady at the Pro Desk, she's obviously too busy.... The place hasn't been the same ever since Phil left. Won't be going there unless there's something that's exclusively home depot now.

Purchased a Style Well Bracebridge 54inch Media Console Electric Fireplace on a Sunday morning at the Red Deer Home Depot and put it together that afternoon. Moved it into place plugged it in and the firebox was not working. Hauling it back to Home Depot was not high on my list so went in to talk to Customer Service and the Seasonal Department. Everyone I talked to were helpful and they soon had me away with a new firebox and it works well. I would recommend Home Depot to anyone.

Seems like the manager Ken has enacted some policies over the cutting of plywood at the saw station. Seems as if they will not permit 12" cut or smaller due to safety reasons yet ZERO staff could explain why. Been getting cuts here for years and now I take my business to Lowes. I waited 25 min for someone to come and tell me they can't do it because Ken said so. Who is Ken and why is he such a knob?

We decided to add a wall to our family room with French doors. Having recently purchased the home, there was leftover paint under the stairs. There was enough wall paint the walls but the can for doors and trim was almost gone. We brought it in to Home Depot to get matched. Coleen in the paint department of the Red Deer store did an amazing job. The first go through with the paint matching equipment did not give us a match. The paint was a different brand from another retailer. She persevered until the colour was perfect. I could tell she was an expert and asked how long she had worked in this department. "Fifteen years" she told me. I was not surprised. You don't get that skill in a few months or years. Thanks Coleen for the hard work you do giving us the help we need to make minor renovations without having to repaint everything!
