McCall Flats Recreation Site

McCall Flats is a provincial recreation (user maintained) site about an hour from Bella Coola. It has 5 sites (with fire rings and a picnic table), and a pit toilet, and a sandy beach along the Bella Coola River. The road to the site is rough in spots and, according to the Recreation Sites website, is usually only accessible from April to October. Bears frequent the area - we saw tracks in the sand bar when we were there but did not encounter any bears, though being Bear Aware is certainly prudent. We enjoyed a night there on the way to Bella Coola.
