It is a great local campsite, that is super clean and well kept. We've been there twice and enjoyed both our stays. The sites are spacious for RVs and lots have great views. The showers and washrooms are super clean as well. The cafe is reasonably priced and their profits go to charities which is cool. The beach is not the greatest, but the water is perfect for kayaks or canoes. If you have kids I would recommend taking them to Transfer Beach in Ladysmith from Living Forest for a daytrip. It has a great beach, a huge playground and a fun water park. We'll be back to Living Forest next year!

This was our first time here and we enjoyed it. Our place had a small but nice oceanview. Our neighbours were respectful and pleasant. Good sun throughout the day and nights were very quiet. COVID check-in was awesome. They have a great set up at the office. The addition of a nice Cafe on site was a real hit with our young girls. It makes them feel older going by themselves to get something to eat/drink. For mom and dad it's awesome to know they are safe doing so. Our girls also brought their bikes which they enjoyed riding through the park. Drivers were slow and courteous. Site was clean and spacious. The only challenge I felt were the roads were quite small and no signage to get you to your site on arrival. They have a lovely map but there really should be signage and one way roads I feel. Perhaps next time if will be easier as I'll know where to go. Close to downtown Nanaimo. A little bit of ambulance, police siren or loud motorbikes heard on the highway near the campgrounds. But the rest of the traffic was unheard. Close to Duke Pt. Terminal so ferry horns heard. For me that adds to the seaside ambiance. We will check out the water activities next time and bring our kayaks. We will be back.

Always a great place to stop. Very family friendly and some great sized campsites.

Only been here a few days, but so far so good. Nice quiet spot with great views and decent amenities. Close to everything you need but feels like you're away from it all. You can hear the occasional loud motorcycle, rush hour traffic, and engine retarded brakes once in a while but a great spot on the ocean none the less. Staff are quite accommodating and pleasant too. We are here on a longterm stay for the winter so can post a better review when I've had some experience here.
