A great spot for the family. The playground is basic, but we'll kept. The whole campground is very clean, with large spots, and some great views of the river. The place is normally quiet at night, but on occasion we've had a few noisy neighbors. They charge $5 for wood, which is a good price compared to anything I've found in the area.

Our stay at Sooke River Campground was absolutely awesome. Such a great spot to spend the weekend. Quite, cozy and tucked away from the main Sooke Rd. The host are so kind and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this campground to family and friends and anyone staying on the Island. Perfect spot for some much needed R&R. Our spot was right on the river... What more could you ask for? Thanks for a fabulous weekend!

Love this campground! You couldn't ask for a more perfect setting. Great scenery on the river, close to the town of Sooke. Plenty of wildlife to view, on the river and nearby. Beautiful walking trails, parks .and beaches close by as well.

This was a great place, the firewood was extremely dry, there was a lot of space for the RV too, the ground was flat, with a great view of the Sooke river as it went through the whole property, even though we were by a road, at night it wasn’t loud at all. Service was great, I would call a person and tell them I wanted a crate of firewood and within 5 min, a person would pull up at our campground in a golf cart and give us the firewood, firewood was extremely cheap too, 5 bucks for a crate which came with 30 matches and some starter wood, we didn’t use the bathrooms cause we had a RV with a bathroom and it was during COVID-19 so the bathrooms were closed.

New "hosts" are unfriendly and anti dogs.Have been coming here for 30 years.Hosts are supposed to be people persons, not so much here.New Dog rules, dogs on a leash at all times which means you are unable to let them swim. They harrassed us because our well behaved dogs weren't on a leash in our campsite.Unfortunate but luckily turn over of hosts happens often. The only disrespect shown was by the host, and now by you, whoever you are.I haven't ever disrespected anyone at Sooke River Campsite and resent the implication.
