Sidney Spit

Close to Victoria, but away from crowds. A beautiful sand spit is the feature of this national park and nature preserve. Easy to book overnight campsites and the partner ferry tickets online. The campsites are clean and quiet.

Camped there on a group trip early November of 2005 during a storm. Our boat ended up sinking by the dock during the night. I only really got to see the park for about 3 hours while we waited for the coast guard but what I remember is that it was really pretty. one of these days I'll probably go back. 8/10 would get stranded again.

I have spent many many many weeks over the years camping at Sidney spit, first with my children when they were very young, we would stay one or two weeks, and then by myself after they grew up. It is one of my favorite places on Earth. I love it that no cars are allowed at all...

Nice beach, national park and decent anchourage.
