Shanghai Mandarin Restaurant

One of our favourite Chinese meals in B.C.! We were surprised because we did not see any Asian chefs or servers initially, but the food served was piping hot and very much to our liking. Dishes were flavourful and cooked with gravy - the way we Singaporean tourists are used to back at home. Dishes went very well with rice. Serving is huge though, so be careful not to over order - props to our server who warned us of this as she was taking our order :)

The best f-ing place in town! Been going here for 25 years and now l live out of town. When l have a day planned for Kamloops you can be sure this is on my to stop at list. Chicken fried rice is to die for! And the lettuce wraps... oh my god the lettuce wraps!!!!!

We ordered almond chicken among other things. One taste of it and our son immediately realized it was covered in peanuts not almonds. He is highly allergic to peanuts. Staff were immediately informed and their answer was “oh yeah sorry we were out of almonds so we used peanuts. Arent all nuts the same?” They in no way seemed concerned and instead were blasé about it. Luckily he had not taken a big bite or swallowed however his throat did partially close right then and there. In this day and age of knowledge of food allergies, restaurant staff with an attitude like that is terrible. We do our part to be very careful. The rest of the meal sucked too.

One of the best places to eat in Kamloops. The menu is authentic, friendly service, and honestly you can't beat these prices. During the covid-19 their take out service was just brilliant!

Shanghai Mandarin sets the bar high for the best takeout Chinese Food in Kamloops. Food quality/tastes are amazing, and quantities are plentiful. Im happy to see my favorite place following Covid health safety standards for their customers & themselves... Thank you Shanghai owners for being consistently awesome over the years & best wishes for a safe and strong future.
