We had a great experience with this company. The girl who helped us explained everything clearly and provided us with great service. She performed a full inspection of the vehicle and jotted down every possible scratch to avoid an issues later. We were driving to Liberia as we had a flight in the morning. The drop off fee was a little pricey (at $50) but they came to our hotel at 7:30pm to pick up the vehicle, saving us the hassle. The gentleman who picked it up was also fantastic. Our original damage deposit has also since been returned. No issues whatsoever

My wife and I rented a car through Expedia for TD for the period Friday, February 17 to Monday, February 20, 2017. Our confirmation show that we had booked through ACE Rent-A-Car in Jaco Beach. However the rental agency was actually 2-Go Rent-A-Car, a Costa Rican company. When we did the circle check with the agent on taking delivery of the vehicle we found many exterior dents and scratches, approximately 20 in number, and a loose front bumper which had obviously been in a collision. With some persuasion, the female agent agreed to mark all of these defects and to provide me with a copy. We questioned why we were not getting a "clean" vehicle and were told this Toyota Corolla, of older vintage, was all that was available. We were also advised of the time of rental that we had to pay mandatory local insurance for collision and third-party liability, even though we had adequate insurance of our own to cover any eventuality. This doubled the cost of the rental which had been quoted at C $56.34 to C $112.00. We had no choice but to pay. We drove very carefully and caused absolutely no damage to the vehicle. We returned it approximately one half hour early on Monday, February 20. The agent for 2-Go Rent-A-Car, Damien Nicholas Nestor, kept us waiting for over an hour, while he made numerous telephone calls and dealt with people who came in after us. Finally, he summoned me to tell me that they had found damage to the interior of the vehicle for which I was responsible. He showed me a very small crack in the plastic housing for the air-conditioning vent which surrounds the four-way flasher. I immediately told Mr. Nestor that he was mistaken. We did absolutely nothing to cause such damage, and the agent who leased us the vehicle did no inspection of the interior! Therefore, there was no way to establish that the damage had occurred before we leased the vehicle. Despite a heated discussion with Mr. Nestor, during which I offered to take a lie detector test he insisted that we must pay for the damage. Of interest, Mr. Nestor assured me several times that he believed me, but that his hands were tied and we must pay. At no time during our three-day rental, did my wife or I ever see a crack in the plastic housing. Remember, this is an older Corolla, rather beat up, which had never apparently been repaired by the rental agency. We never used the four-way flashers Mr. Nestor added the sum of $130 to my rental bill for the cost of the "repairs" to the cracked plastic housing. At no time did he provide any kind of estimate or justification for this figure. I doubt very much that this repair will ever be made, which I think could be effected with a tube of Crazy Glue, consistent with the condition of the balance of the vehicle. I refused to sign the Visa slip, and Mr. Nestor stated "it doesn't matter, we'll put it through anyway." Indeed they did. I found this entire incident outrageous. Not only do I feel that 2-Go Rent-A-Car performed a scam on me, but they questioned our honesty and integrity when we had played by all the rules. I have to wonder how many times they have charged other vehicle users for the 20 or more dents and scratches on the exterior of this vehicle! Perhaps we've been fortunate, but we've never had this kind of experience before, renting cars throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. In 30 years of renting vehicles, I had never heard of anyone being taken advantage of by a rental agency like 2-Go Rent-A-Car. Terence J. Billo
