Three hours passed after the sudden paralysis of our dachshund and he was already on magnetic resonance imaging with subsequent surgery at a clinic in Prague. But unfortunately, no operation can guarantee you a 100% positive result. The prolapse of the intervertebral disc was very ugly, the material from the disc irreversibly damaged the spinal cord. Condition after surgery: paraplegia without deep sensitivity, not urine itself. After two weeks, he was released from the clinic home with a hint of reflex movement of the hind limbs, not urinating alone, without deep sensitivity. The bladder must be squeezed manually. Despite all the drugs prescribed, the bladder (MM) was very difficult to manage. It threatened inflammation of the MM and kidneys. Which meant kidney failure in the near future. Due to the doubts of the limbs, we started rehabilitation exercises, walking in an aquatherapy bath. The doubt of the hind legs slowly improved, but the MM remained in the same condition. A month after the operation, we decided to go to Zlín to see acupuncture for Dr. Lubomír Sojka. In our case, the doctor recommended electroacupuncture. Already after the first application, I felt positive changes in the condition of the bladder and movement of the limbs. After 5 applications of electroacupuncture MM is very easy to control. It was 4 months after the operation. Our darling is already running with friends on a walk in the park. One of the main roles in the rehabilitation of our dog was acupuncture, which significantly improved the condition of MM and accelerated the improvement of hind leg movement. Again, I started going out with her for walks in the nature, very short at first and gradually increasing the length to strengthen the leg muscles again. We keep the daily interval of longer walks to the present day, the girl can easily walk 1.5 km to 2 km. Thanks to Dr. Sojka and his treatment with acupuncture, it was impossible, where the prognosis was really very bad, when our veterinarian did not believe that this, very bad condition, was going to be reversed by anything.
