The Stadtförsterei is located at Heilstättenstraße 130; the two-winged sandstone building is protected as an architectural monument. There is also a bus stop and a hiking car park for those looking for local recreation. There is a wild boar enclosure not far from the town forester. To the deer enclosure that opened in 2018 you have to hike about 30 minutes. You will also be rewarded with the beautiful Rangau view. There is a large board on the hiking car park with a detailed description of the current hiking trails. In 2016, the marked trail network was created by the Franconian Alpine Club e. V. revised, some hiking trails extend far beyond the city forest. There are also several circular hiking trails that begin and end at the hiking parking lots and 4 marked tours for Nordic walkers.
