WARNING: They offer supposed tax seminars and then sell your own financial services. Absolutely not to be recommended
WARNING FOR ALL STUDENTS
MLP lures students with "tax seminars" etc. At such a seminar, a consultant then explains a few basics of how to fill out your tax return. Then you should make free appointments with the advisors, where the advisors fill out the tax return for the student. This is clearly illegal since the consultants are not licensed as tax consultants.
Then the consultants want to sell you all kinds of insurance and investment funds. The products are selected so that it is disadvantageous for the customer and advantageous for the consultant (via the commission), e.g. the coupling of capital and risk. It is also striking that EVERY student is offered the same insurance (just google "MLP Alte Leipziger"), presumably because the commission is highest there.
So: The best thing is not to go to the seminars, because they are psychologically so good and somehow pull the money out of the unsuspecting people.
Better alternatives:
For insurance companies -> watch Youtube videos
Invest for capital -> read "Sovereign investment" by Gerd Kommer. It also explains why you lose a lot of money in the long term with such "consultants" and their recommendations and what better alternatives there are.
The whole thing is based only on my experience with the advisor Maria Card **; but all MLP consultants pursue the same business model.
