While visiting friends, we saw that the PÜD was distributing traffic tickets in a ring road far outside the city center (no thoroughfare, only residents). This is what happens with around every second car. Of course, every driver has to park properly, but if the reason is 'parking on the sidewalk' and this has not bothered us in the last few decades (and even today it cannot bother anyone, since there is enough space for prams etc.), this could almost be a suspicion germinate, the city bag has to be filled compulsorily in corona times.

The staff are extremely unfriendly and seem to have little to no interest in helping you or even in some way towards meeting you. Apart from various misinformation. In addition, the website of the city of Bamberg is confusing and incomplete when it comes to information.

I'm not sure if this reaches the right people in charge. The search function in the last version of the event calendar has clearly deteriorated. The old function was better

A worth seeing, culturally valuable old town. There is so much to see and discover. The culinary specialties in solid and liquid form are also typical. There is room for improvement in the mobility concept, especially in the expansion and signposting of the cycle paths.

Today I parked in a parking lot in Bamberg, with masked additional signs and a parking machine (see picture). Good, I think, and get a parking ticket. Insert 2 euros and place the parking ticket legibly behind the windshield. Before my parking ticket expires, I return to the vehicle and have a parking ticket stuck to the windshield. Far outside the parking lot signs I find the parking lot signs with the additional sign "for residents". I have at least two questions: 1. Why is the parking lot signage, as you can see in my photo, not completely covered when there are further parking lot signs with additional signs "For residents" hidden to the right and left? 2. Why is it not made clear that the parking ticket machine is not working or that it is out of service? For me the fact is one thing: Many non-Bambergers pay their parking ticket here in good faith (50 cents per 20 minutes) and then also receive a ticket. For me this is a calculated rip-off, because the additional sign (see picture) has not only been masked since yesterday. The policemen of course know their corners and regularly stop by such places to meet their quota as quickly as possible. When I left, the next two women were standing at the parking ticket machine. Put the parking ticket in the car and wanted to leave their vehicle .. The policemen would have been happy again.
