This insurance is an absolute disaster. Liability damage is not accepted for flimsy and irrelevant reasons. Legal protection shows no reaction despite repeated damage reports! I will cancel all insurance here. The many negative reviews here show that I'm not an isolated case.

A disaster as an insurer. One of Germany's worst insurance companies. The HUK lives up to its bad reputation. Better take Generali. You are not contacted personally, but despite the address and telephone number in the accident report, you get a letter to "report" your damage and then hang on for hours. Contact on the phone for about an hour on hold, and initially incompetent employee. For me, the HUK was the opposing insurance company. They only wanted to pay a certain amount for the appraiser and ideally also commission their own workshop. As a courtesy, I had my car repaired in an independent workshop. I was told to take a Europcar car. The mediation also made it very quick. The second attempt to contact the HUK, the lady on the line, were the only positive reasons. After the settlement of the damage was (supposedly) completed, I received an invoice from Europcar for 233 euros for the rental vehicle, which I then had to pay myself, since this insurance apparently had not paid. Note: The HUK "sells" this mandatory service as a "service". It is not a service if I stay at my expense, if I am told how to regulate and if you have to "report" your accident forever in a waiting loop. Service would be straightforward. At the HUK, the opponent of the accident becomes a supplicant.
