Very bad! If the landlord does not hand out the certificate (after more than a year of renting), they want to continue collecting contributions and inform them that the insurance cover is otherwise at risk. For what insurance coverage if the associated tenancy has not even existed for almost 1.5 years? This is an absolutely disproportionate termination condition, only to accept a termination if you get back a certificate that you have drawn up yourself and that has no value either for the ex-landlord or for the customer. Absolutely can't recommend such a deposit guarantee to anyone and reading other reviews I feel vindicated. With these bad, but justifiable reviews, you won't do your reputation any good in the long run.

Only bad. I don't recommend it to anyone. Nobody answers and all of a sudden I get a debt collection notice! not nice never again!

As a future tenant of an apartment with a comparatively low rental deposit, I was interested in the company's offers. First of all, I find the idea of being able to influence this cost factor in the cost-intensive relocation phase interesting. In addition, there is nothing on the website of my bank about the conditions of a deposit savings book. However, it struck me negatively that there are a noticeably large number of websites that test the product of the "deposit fund" ... and that is probably the only purpose of these websites. The "test" usually consists of referring to the provider's website very often and raving about it in the highest tones. There are only advantages and no disadvantages, and ultimately the text reads like an advertising brochure. You don't have to have a lot of imagination to imagine which site operators are behind the sites ... and that they have a fundamental interest in bringing new customers to the "German Bailiff". A second point of criticism is the confusion of the supposedly simple cost structure. According to the website, 5% of the deposit is charged annually. Hm ... no, that's not true. In fact, an additional ten euros fee is charged annually, in the first year even 50 euros. My one-room apartment would not cost 24 euros a year for the 480 euros deposit, but 74 euros in the first year and then 34 euros a year. Almost 16 percent of the deposit amount in the first year. That only appears in the small print. Of course, this is a percentage higher for small sums than for large sums - on the other hand, small apartments are usually rented for shorter periods of time, so that the costs are particularly high in comparison. One last point, which is also addressed in other reviews: the fees are calculated until the deposit is returned, i.e. until the landlord declares that he has no more claims. This is not dubious, but actually logical, but should be aware of when you close. This is because fees can be incurred more than half a year after moving out. In summary: the product itself may be okay. Tricks like the "self-assessment" and the cost trap of additional fees let me refrain from applying. The very official-sounding title "Deutsche Kautionskasse", which is supposed to create trust, doesn't change that.

Never again

Unfortunately, the internal communication at the Deutsche Kautionskasse is insufficient! As a customer, you are the victim because some employees seem to have not been properly trained and do not pass on information. Even in the same conversation I got different information! Instead of apologizing for mistakes and showing empathy to the customer, you are being sold for stupid! If I had been properly advised a year ago, I could have saved myself all the trouble. Customer orientation is probably written in small letters there.
