I have had an account with our Raiffeisenbank in Hilpoltstein since I was little. Although I am active in the financial sector myself and know that there are much cheaper and more attractive offers for private checking accounts, I wanted to remain loyal to this bank to support this principle of cooperative. So far I've always been very satisfied with the service. But everything has changed since last week. I received a letter stating that my business relationship would be terminated with two months' notice. I wanted to know what the reason for this termination was and immediately called my contact person, Mr. Pachner. Although he holds the position of division manager and authorized officer, he did not want to give me any reason why the business relationship was terminated. Paragraph 19 (1) only states that termination can be made at any time with notice. It is not a big problem for me now, since there are now much cheaper offers from the competition, such as ING, DKB, Norisbank or other digital banks such as N26 or Revolut. I just think it's a shame that a customer like me, who has always remained loyal to this bank, was given notice without reason. At the very least, there can be no reason to justify termination. My credit rating is top, I have no loans and no other debts. Was never in the red or had any residues. I hope it's not because of my background or belief that they quit me. That would make me very sad. For young people I definitely recommend: stay away from such banks. There are now free alternatives with a much better usability.
