Gedenktafel und Standort ehemalige Synagoge

Unfortunately, there is nothing left of the synagogue, built in 1748, except a commemorative plaque and engraving. (Therefore only 3 stars) In the Reichsprogromnacht the interior was completely destroyed. However, the synagogue was preserved as a building. However, this was badly damaged by a bomb attack by the Allies on 18.03.1945. Only in 1953, the ruins were completely demolished and replaced by a residential and commercial building. The former Jewish community was one of the most important in the Palatinate and dates back much in history. From the community come some personalities such as Rosa Maas, the opera and concert singer, who was known worldwide.
