Plaza Central, Simiatug

This plaza is the center of activity in Simiatug. This is where many of the town’s major events occur. People gather here to socialize and to sell products on the street. There is a small area with playground equipment for children to enjoy. There are also volleyball courts here that allow for competitive games throughout the day and into the evening. This plaza is centrally located next to government buildings, the local church, and several shops. Like many small towns in Ecuador, the central plaza is the beating heart of the community.
