(Mariposario) Mariposas de Mindo

The mariposeria was nice to see. The visit starts with an explanation of the breeding process. This was quick to the point, and informative. Than you can walk the butterfly garden, which is quite small and there aren't many different species. It is quite nice though. After the butterfly garden you have access to an open garden with two huge bamboo towers, quite impressive and a small hummingbird sanctuary. This was very nice to see. There is a little gift shop, a restaurant we did not visit, and a coi fish pond. For a quarter you can feed the fish. Cute for the kids.

The place is very beautiful, it has a private parking lot, you have direct contact with butterflies, you can walk outdoors and see a variety of local plants. You should avoid going with repellent. They have a variety of memories (souvenirs) of the place. Ideal to go with the family.
