Rented at BCN for a week, and the price seemed to good to be true. When reading the fine print, I understood that if you do not opt for their insurance they will require a deposit of at least 1000 EUR, and if you wanted to take the vehicle out of the country it would cost an additional 9 EUR a day to a maximum of 90 EUR. Both of these policies are similar to the ones at the big name companies as well, AVIS, Hertz, etc.. Knowing this, I decided to book and the total cost was around 90 EUR - about half of the cost of the big name companies. Landed at BCN, and took me a while to find the pick up point (signage could be improved). Waited about 20 minutes before the shuttle came around and brought me to the rental car office. The sales pitch to upgrade the insurance was made and I decline all options and provided my credit card for the deposit (which also covered me for CDW). I booked a “FIAT Tipo or similar” class. and was initially provided a Ford Focus that seemed like it’s been through war with reported damages that didn’t fit into the space of the rental contract... because I wasn’t taking their insurance, I wanted something a little less rough and asked to swap the car. They said yes, and was provided a much nicer Hyundai i30 with about 6,000 km. On return, the agent walked around the car and did the inspection and no issues were reported. All deposits and prepaid fuel were refunded. Overall, the experience was pretty good with the total cost of 90 EUR for the week (63 EUR out of country fee + 27 EUR for the actual car rental). If you understand their pricing, and play within their policies it’s a great alternative to the big names.

Good service. Took the premium package and after a break in, they changed over the car straight away with no extra charges. The original car was better than the replacement though but still a decent car. I highly recommend the premium package as it was stress free and a reasonable price.

THE WORST ADVENTURE OF LIFE! A lot of friends warned me that in Spain you have to watch out for thieves and car burglars. We did that too. We kept nothing in view in the car. But once our suitcases with all our belongings were in the trunk for about 1 hour, the thieves broke into the car and took everything (about 4,000 EUR)! The police didn't help. They are very lazy in Spanish so they did not even notice the damaged lock. But when I was returning the car to Centrauro, they noticed the damaged lock in 5 seconds. I had the impression that they collaborated with the thieves. Why? 1) Because they stuck a huge sticker on the windshield of the car, informing that tourists travel in this car. 2) They noticed a breach of the lock in 5 seconds 3) Centauro did not want to help me call the police (in Spain, the police do not speak English) when I returned the car and they noticed the damaged castle (on the day of the theft the police did not notice it). You should also watch out for the signature placed on the electronic tablet! They first make a sign that the car has been returned and say that everything will be fine, and then they print this signature on a piece of paper where they write the amount deducted without my knowledge! They charged me 750 eur, which is the maximum amount of the deposit! As I found out later, repairing the lock in this door model costs about 200 euros. So they made over 400 EUR on it. Conclusion - for this car rental company it is very important that the car is destroyed, then they can earn extra money.

You must know where to get the big yellow shuttle bus over to the car pickup depot. A good bit up to the right when you come out of T2. About 100 m. beyond the taxi rank. This was off season during lockdown so all was quiet and perfect and everyone was helpful and courteous and no queuing. Great value.

For the first time ever I was downgraded - booked and paid for B class (corsa, polo, fiesta) and got tiny kia picanto. Where in the world is picanto a B class car??? Except for Hobbiton maybe. Very insolent staff. Oh, and zero deposit means 53 euro fuel deposit. Keep away. If you want stress-free holiday, go for legacy rentals. Centauro is a bad bad joke
